Inicialmente o nosso objectivo era começar a semana com um sneak peek do casamento da Lília e do Jhonny (o que de facto vai acontecer em todo o caso!) mas lembrei-me que seria a altura ideal para falar de um assunto, que nos assombra muitas vezes… o tempo que o fotógrafo tem disponível, no dia do casamento, para fotografar o casal! Todos sabemos que os noivos não devem ausentar-se muito tempo da festa, todos sabemos que o catering tem timings próprios e o jantar tem que ser servido à hora combinada, por isso atrasos não são bem vindos… todos sabemos que não é nada agradável ficar 3 horas à espera que os noivos apareçam, depois de terem sido raptados pelos fotógrafos… de facto, todos estes cenários são bem comuns em Portugal… mas tendo em conta que uma nova vaga de profissionais começa agora a surgir e tem como objectivo interferir o menos possível com a festa… não acham justo prescindir de 15 a 20 minutos da festa… e ter recordações como estas… para toda a vida?… sinceramente, a mim, parece-me obrigatório!! E vocês? Queremos saber qual a vossa opinião relativamente a este assunto?
Initially our goal was to start the week with a sneak peek of Lilia and Jhonny’s wedding (which in fact will happen anyway!) But I remembered that it would be the ideal time to talk about something that haunts us many times … the time that a photographer has available to photograph the couple, on their wedding day! We all know that the couple should not be away too long during cocktail hour, we all know that the caterer has timings and dinner must be served at the appointed time, so delays are not welcome … we all know that is not pleasant to be three hours waiting for the bride and groom to appear, after being “kidnapped” by the photographers … in fact, all these scenarios are quite common in Portugal … but taking into account that a new wave of professionals is now starting to emerge and aims to interfere as little as possible with the wedding day … don’t you think it’s fair to save 15 to 20 minutes during cocktail hour, so that your photographer can take these memories… that you’ll cherish for life? … honestly, to me, it seems mandatory! How about you? What do you think? Are you willing to be away from your guests?

Eu acho que sim, o dia é muito importante e vai ser recordado para sempre através de fotografias. Aquele momento a dois só com o fotógrafo, pelo menos no meu caso, foi super especial.. É verdade que os convidados esperaram bastante, mas as imagens são lindas e acho que todos dizem que valeu bem a pena!!

Os meros 5 min que estivemos a sós com o André fizeram toda a diferença. Não foi mais tempo porque o frio não se suportava e eu estava desconfortável. Mas nós fomos e voltamos e a maior parte dos convidados nem deu conta- o importante é saber escolher o momento, e nào pode ser mais de 15min.

Eu diria que 15 minutos não é nada comparado com o tempo que se “perde” no cabeleireiro, em make-up, etc… etc… No fundo, há que fazer valer todo o tempo, esforço e perfeição e terminar a receita em beleza com fotografias maravilhosas como estas!

Nós chegamos bem depois dos convidados à quinta porque fizemos a nossa sessão à beira da igreja e, sem dúvida, que foi a melhor opção!! 
Temos uma sessão fantástica para recordar!

I think that 15 minutes is the absolute minimum, half an hour should be about the average! The bride and groom should consider beforehand what is important to them, in terms of photography. If being away from their guests is not acceptable to them, then perhaps they should consider working with a more photo-journalistic style of photographer, someone who specialises in capturing purely candid moments throughout the day. If, however, they are looking for the beautiful, dreamy portraiture that Brancoprata specialises in, they have to know that this kind of photography doesn’t happen without the involvement and co-operation of the couple, and certainly doesn’t happen in less than 15 minutes!!
There are all kinds of weddings and all kinds of photographers and I think the key in this situation is to discuss what your expectations are right in the beginning, and find someone who fits them perfectly… then everything will work out smoothly!
I was anxious to get to my guests on my own the wedding day and rushed to photographer to finish the portraits. I know that he would have liked to have more time with us…

If I could do it again, I’d do a “first look”. I find it quite a romantic idea, and then you have time scheduled in before the ceremony to take all the pictures you want
